Buffalo Wings or Filet Mignon, you'll enjoy it all!

"I have used Comfort Diner frequently for Island Def Jam functions: from staff events to large VIP Parties with high profile Artists. They are able to provide menus from the casual to the hearty to the elegant; with the ability to build up on our themes and special dietary requests. Not only has Comfort Diner always operated with the utmost professionalism and creativity, but the service comes at the most competitive price. And maybe most importantly, the food is delicious!!! Try the lobster ravioli, grilled cheese sandwiches or the brownies and you wi ll be coming back for more!"

The motto of The Comfort Diner is a simple one - "Time to eat good food!"

That's because whenever you walk through its doors-no matter what time it is or how hungry you are-it's time for something good to eat. Our take on "good food" is not at all complicated. At the Comfort Diner we serve no nonsense American fare that harkens back to the golden age of the diner. Think grilled cheese, meatloaf, burgers, fries and milkshakes.

But we don't stop there. While we pay homage to the past, we are not limited by it. On our menu you'll see newfangled (but not high falutin') American classics - like Pistachio Chicken Salad and breakfast burritos-that would never have appeared at any diner in the '40's.

Our goal when the first Comfort Diner opened in 1996 was not simply to replicate the diner experience egg cream for egg cream. That would make the place a museum. Instead, we sought to bring high quality back to diner food, to create a cheerful atmosphere with a menu that is both nostalgic and up to date.

That approach worked. New Yorkers welcomed the concept with ravenous appetites. In a short time, the pace was packed. Named "Best Diner in New York" by Time Out New York and The Resident, The Comfort Diner was a success and soon afterward Gourmet magazine gave us a rave review. Over the years we've been featured on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Food Network, and a host of other television segments. Additionally, we've been covered in the New York Times, Bon Appetit, Chocolatier, New York magazine and Woman's Day.

After fourteen years in Manhattan it's "Time to eat Good Food" in Staten Island. We've brought our combination of good home cooking, quick service and popular prices to 1281 Arthur Kill Rd. We hope to see you there soon!
